In clinic, intravesical therapy has been widely used in the treatment of interstitial cystitis. However, at present, a lot of people appear the symptoms of urinary frequency and urgency after the infusion. For this reason, many people doubt that whether interstitial cystitis can be cured with intravesical therapy.

Intravesical therapy is a kind of technology that perfuses the chemical drugs or anti-cancer drugs directly into the bladder by means of a catheter. Currently, it is very common in clinic, mainly aiming at the prevention and treatment of interstitial cystitis, chronic cystitis and cystitis cancer.

For the treatment of interstitial cystitis, although there is no uniform standard guidelines of the intravesical drugs, doctors find some commonly used drugs according to clinical experience. There are four kinds of chemical drugs for the infusion including imethyl sulfoxide, heparin, BCG, and Hyaluronic acid. These drugs are effective for local antiphlogosis and catabatic pain, but it has been proven that intravesical drugs are only effective for partially patients; and the disease conditions of some patients are aggravated in some cases, so patients need to be cautious when choosing this therapy.

In addition to the lower cure rate, this therapy can also bring many side effects to patients.

1. Damage the bladder mucosa: in general, intravesical chemical drugs have some toxicity. After the infusion, they may damage the normal bladder mucosa, affecting the healing of wounds.

2. Appearing the symptoms of frequency and urgency: when chemicals are poured into the bladder, cystitis is easily induced, gradually causing symptoms like dysuria, urgency, frequency, etc.

3. Easy to relapse after cure: intravesical therapy mainly focus on local lesions, it can't cure the disease from the overall, making the disease easy to relapse. If the disease always recurs, patients need to stop the intravesical therapy.

In summary, intravesical therapy isn't suitable for all patients, and it is hard to make interstitial cystitis cured completely. When patients have this disease, compared with the strong and irrigative drugs like amyl poly sodium, loratadine, hydroxyzine, Cimetidine, antibiotics, tricyclic antidepressants, the conservative herbal medicine like Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill can cure this disease both from symptoms and root causes, without any side effects and drug resistance.
