In many people's minds, fever is a sign of inflammation, and they need to take anti-inflammatory drugs. This kind of anti-inflammatory medication is an antimicrobial drug, it has a therapeutic effect on only a few cases of fever, which means that it only works on certain infections. So what are the causes of fever? What can we do when getting a fever?

Fever is the body's self-protective response

Usually, the human body has a specific immune function. When pathogens such as bacteria, fungi, and other pathogenic microorganisms enter the body, the immune function must remove them to protect the body from harm. If the immune system is not so strong, the pathogen or the pathogen will pour in, leading to fever.

Any pathogenic microorganism entering the body may cause fever. According to the sensitivity of each person to body temperature, there will be varying degrees of temperature changes. So fever is a natural response of the body to external pathogens.

Anti-inflammatory drugs are effective only for fever caused by bacterial infections

If you go to the hospital, the doctor will first determine whether you are infected or not. If it is an infection, you need to determine whether the pathogen is bacteria, viruses, mycoplasma, chlamydia, or fungi.

If the fever is caused by Mycoplasma and Chlamydia infection, anti-inflammation can not completely solve the problem. Patients also need to cooperate with natural medicine like Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill to kill bacteria and diminish the inflammation, turn chlamydia and Mycoplasma negative, treating the symptoms thoroughly.

If it is not an infection, it may be an immune disease or a tumor, or it may be other inflammatory diseases. Non-infectious diseases, such as arthritis-induced fever, are ineffective with anti-inflammatory drugs(i.e., antibiotics). Even if the fever is caused by infectious diseases, and viral infection, taking anti-inflammatory drugs can not kill the virus, it is only effective for bacterial infection.

In this case, anti-inflammatory drugs are not only ineffective but also may cause other problems. Originally the body is sensitive to any antibiotic, but long-term taking may cause drug resistance, which makes the drug lose its effect.

What can I do with a fever?

As mentioned before, fever is a natural response of the body to external pathogens. When the body temperature reaches a certain temperature, the pathogen will be killed in the body because of environmental changes, which is one of the self-protection mechanisms of the body.

A large proportion of patients with fever can recover spontaneously in a short time. Within the first 1-2 days of fever, when the body temperature is not particularly high, many people naturally drop their body temperature by drinking more water and taking proper vitamin supplements. If the body temperature is a little higher, you can try to take antipyretics to observe.

If you still feel that your body temperature can't keep falling down, you'd better go to the hospital to see a doctor for a definite diagnosis and then treat it symptomatically.
