Pelvic adhesion is a common gynecological disease. It is also a type of chronic pelvic inflammatory infection. When invaded by bacteria or virus, the pelvic organs like the uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries and other pelvic organs can discharge inflammatory secretions. Affected by the inflammatory secretions, pelvic organs will adhere to each other easily. Because Pelvic adhesion is harmful and can also bring infertility to women, timely treatment is necessary. But diagnosis is the precondition of treatment, so how is the pelvic adhesion diagnosed?

In general, women can make a diagnosis via three ways.

Self-examination

Self-examination is a way to diagnose pelvic adhesion by oneself. Its major approach is inspecting symptoms. Generally speaking, if the pelvic adhesion is caused by infection, women can experience dull pain on lower abdomen or aching pain on the waist. What's more, these symptoms can become severer if there is fatigue, intercourse or menstruation. Therefore, if women have had those symptoms mentioned above, it is possible pelvic adhesion. However, since self-examination is so subjectively, other auxiliary tests are required.

Salpingography (HSG)

Salpingography (HSG) is also a common test for the diagnosis of pelvic adhesion. By observing the diffusion of dye 24 hours later, doctors can tell sufferers the outcome. Clinically, if the dye distributes unevenly in the pelvic cavity, it is pelvic adhesion.

Laparoscope

Laparoscopy is a surgery that uses a thin, lighted tube putting through a cut (incision) in the belly to look at the abdominal organs or the female pelvic organs. In addition to the morphology of uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes, other important things like adhesion, abnormal discharge and the speed and volume of the discharge can be also shown by laparoscopy. Then doctor can tell women the condition of their pelvic cavity and what diseases they have. Laparoscopy can be less stressful and may have less problems and lower costs than laparotomy. It can often be done without needing to stay overnight in the hospital.

As long as the pelvic adhesion is confirmed, accepting timely treatment is the next step. If women do not have drug resistance or fertility requirement, antibiotics and surgery are good choice. On the contrary, herbal pill named Fuyan Pill is better.
