Affected by hormonal and inflammation, the uterine lining or endometrium is easy to get some changes, such as uterine fibroids, adenomyosis and so on. Today we take a look at the uterine fibroids, and to see if the uterine fibroids will inheritance and how to treat it.

The uterine fibroids will inherit to your children?

Unlike color blindness, uterine fibroids are actually the polygenic disease, so a single gene can not decide whether people would get the disease. So we can not make a judgment of the inheritance. According to the clinical findings, if the mother had suffered from uterine fibroids, then the daughter’s chance to get the disease will increase.

It will have the pathological changes?

The pathological change of uterine fibroids means that it will develop into other gynecological diseases, such as uterine sarcoma; or may be become the new malignancies. The traditional means is to make a judgment of whether it is the benign or the malignant. But the present study is to make the blood tests to have a confirmation.

To remove the fibroids or the uterus

Whether to remove the fibroids or the uterus is the most considerable issue to many women. It is also the issue to be considered by clinicians. To the women with the fertility requirements, try to keep the uterus is the must; to the women without the fertility requirements, if the fibroids are benign, the uterus can be retained. The biggest difference of these two kinds of surgery is that the surgery can decide whether the women will can fertility in the future.

The difference between subtotal hysterectomy and total hysterectomy

Subtotal hysterectomy is the removal of the uterus but the cervix is reserved while the total hysterectomy means the removal of the all the uterus together. Studies shows that cervix reserving can support the structure of pelvic floor, but if it get disease in the future, then the risk of bladder injury and recurrence may increase. Some European countries now mainly take the subtotal hysterectomy, but our Chinese mainly get the total hysterectomy. So if you want to choose the subtotal hysterectomy, then after surgery, periodic review is necessary.

After removal of the uterus, we will become old?

Many patients hold the view that once the uterus removed, people will get old rapidly. Actually, this is a misunderstanding. People’s aging depends on the hormone levels of women, but the uterus does not affect the hormone levels. Although the uterus is removed, but the ovaries are retained, so there will be no significant changes in hormones.
