prostatitis is swelling and inflammation of the prostate gland, a walnut-sized gland located directly below the bladder in men. The prostate gland produces fluid (semen) that nourishes and transports sperm. Prostatitis often causes painful or difficult urination. Other symptoms of prostatitis include pain in the groin, pelvic area or genitals, and sometimes, flu-like symptoms.

Most men with prostatitis will have a persistent (chronic) form of the disease, where symptoms come and go for at least three months. Thus, chronic prostatitis is common. If the prostatitis symptoms are severe and develop suddenly, see your GP immediately. This sudden, severe type is known as acute prostatitis and needs to be treated immediately. Acute prostatitis can become chronic prostatitis if it is not treated soon.

The prostatitis symptoms may vary from day to day: some days they may be particularly troublesome. On other days they may be mild or almost non-existent. Possible symptoms are:

•pain in the pelvis, genitals, lower back and buttocks
•pain when urinating
•frequent need to urinate
•difficulty urinating, such as problems starting or 'stop-start' urination
•pain when ejaculating
•a high temperature of 38ºC (100.4ºF) or above

If you want to cure prostatitis thoroughly, you should choose herbal medicine. Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill is a typical herbal medicine for prostatitis. Though it may work slowly, it can get rid of prostatitis symptoms and doesn’t have any side effects. In general, sufferers can recover in three months.
