chlamydia infection is extremely common. Because the infection often cause no symptoms, it is always transmitted by the carrier without knowing it. About 70% of infected women and about 50% of infected men have no symptoms of chlamydia infection. Any sexual active person can be infected with chlamydia. Chlamydia causes male infertility if it is not treated promptly.
Chlamydia causes several symptoms in men, including discharge from the penis, pain or burning during urination, inflammation or infection of a duct in the testicles, tenderness or pain in the testicles. It can develop into serious medical conditions if not treated.
Chlamydia infection can cause inflammations, like urethritis,
prostatitis,
epididymitis,
seminal vesiculitis, and
orchitis. Symptoms of these inflammations may even remain after the infection is treated. By interfering organs function, chlamydia causes infertility in men. Luckily, this is not for sure in every case.
By treating chlamydia and controlling the infection promptly, infertility caused by chlamydia infection is not a serious problem. Organs can recover soon with the treatment and have their function back.
