cystitis is a bacterial urinary tract infection that affects the bladder of the sexually active women between the ages of twenty and fifty. This disease can affect men too at any age. Generally, the elderly are at a higher risk since their immune systems are weak.

The signs of this disease include mild fever, frequent need to urinate, pressure in the pelvis, painful urination, and urinating blood among others. Cystitis can be identified and treated but if it is not treated, the infection may become more serious and lead to bloodstream infection or kidney infection, which may completely damage your kidneys.

Cystitis and other bladder infections are treated with antibiotics like Doxycycline or any other antibiotics depending on what the doctor thinks is causing the infection in your body.

Doxycycline is an antibiotic prescribed to treat bacterial infections, infections in urinary tract Doxycycline is an antibiotic of the tetracycline group. The drug exerts broad-spectrum bacteriostatic effects. The preparations mechanism of action consists in inhibition of certain protein production in bacterial cells through binding to the 30S ribosome subunit. Due to insufficiency of needed proteins the bacterial cell is unable to multiply. The preparation affects gram-positive an negative bacteria. The usual dose of oral doxycycline is 200 milligrams on the first day of treatment (100 milligrams every 12 hours) followed by a maintenance dose of 100 milligrams per day. The maintenance dose may be taken as a single dose or as 50 milligrams every 12 hours. Your doctor may prescribe 100 milligrams every 12 hours for severe infections such as chronic urinary tract infection.

Most of the people who use Doxycycline experience several side effects, which may include fungal infections, vomiting, diarrhea and serious interaction with other medications. Doxycycline is also used to treat rosacea, a disease that affects the eyes and can lead to vision loss. Rosacea requires quick and serious treatment though before you start using Doxycycline, you should know its pros and cons.

Do NOT use Doxycycline if: you are allergic to any ingredient in Doxycycline Hyclate or to another tetracycline (eg, minocycline),you are taking acitretin, isotretinoin, or a penicillin (eg, amoxicillin), you have recently received or will be receiving a live oral typhoid vaccine. If you have a chance, look for herbal medicine as alternatives.
