mycoplasma is the smallest and simplest prokaryote found so far. The only visible organelle in .mycoplasma cell is the ribosome (Mycoplasma is the prokaryotic cell, and the only organelle in prokaryotic cell is ribosome).

Mycoplasma is the smallest microbe which can grow and reproduce in the abiotic medium so far. Mycoplasma has various shapes. It is spherical as its basic shape as well as baculiform and filiform. The dimension of its bacterial colony is as a needlepoint, so it is also called micro-mycoplasma. Mycoplasma urealyticum and mycoplasma hominis can result in urinary infection mainly through sexual contact and minority also infect indirectly with permissive cell of urinary system. It's insensitive for antibiotics which can affect the synthesis of cellwall such as penicillin, etc. because it has no cellwall. But antibiotics which effect on ribosome such as erythromycin, tetracycline, kanamycin, streptomycin, chloramphenicol, etc. can inhibit or affect the protein synthesis of mycoplasma with the effect of inhibiting mycoplasma.

The causes why mycoplasma results in cell trauma are: mycoplasma adhered to the surface of host cells absorb nutrients from cells and obtain cholesterol and lipid from the cell membrane; toxic substances from mycoplasma metabolism, such as mycoplasma neurolyticum, can produce neurotoxin and result in trauma of cell membrane with toxic action to cells. Mycoplasma can adhere to the surface of sperm to prevent sperm from moving and neuraminidase-like substances produced by mycoplasma can interfere with combination of sperm and ovum. This is one of the causes that infertility results from mycoplasma infection.

Patients often have distending pain of perineum, backache, discomfort inside the buttocks, or prickling sensation from perineum to inside of buttocks whiling doing excise of lifting the anus. Mycoplasma infection in subacute stage often combines prostate infection. Incubation of mycoplasma infection is about 2 weeks with pricking of urethra, different degrees of urgent and frequency urination and pricking of urination in acute stage, especially obvious when the urine is concentrated. Urethral meatus is reddening and swelling and the discharge is little and thin of serosity or purulence, which flows by forcefully squeezing urethra. There would be little mucous discharge on urethral meatus or just scab film adhesion or dirtiness of crotch in the morning. The reproductive system inflammation centered as cervix and spread around is common for female patients. Many patients have no obvious symptoms, and a small number of serious patients have a fall sense of the vagina with urgent and frequency urination when the infection extends to the urethra and leukorrhagia, turbid leucorrhea, edema, hyperaemia or erosion of surface of cervix when the cervix is infected. When the infection extends to urethra, the symptoms are hyperaemia of urinary meatus and little discharge overflowing by squeezing the urethra with pain. Certainly, the experts also warn that the complications of infection can not be ignored, for example, a common complication of mycoplasma infection is salpingitis, with pelvic inflammatory disease and endometritis occasionally.

Therefore, either men or women shall not underestimate it and focus on their own personal hygiene and try to stay clean which are the premises for effectively preventing from mycoplasma infection. For patients suffered from mycoplasma infection shall consult and check in the professional treatment agencies for symptomatic treatment in time. It is believed that the modern medicine can minimize the damage for the body caused by infection.
