What is Ureaplasma Urealyticum?

Ureaplasma urealyticum is a bacterium belonging to the family mycoplasmataceae.

U. urealyticum is part of the normal genital flora of both men and women. It is found in about 70% of sexually active humans. Ureaplasma is nothing to worry about although if an infection is causing outward symptoms.

The primary cause of Ureaplasma urealyticum is the result of transmission os an infectious agent by another person. So it is one of the STDs.

Signs and symptoms of ureaplasma urealyticum including:

asymptomatic in many cases
range of possible manifestations
urethritis
chorioamnionitis
burning pain on urination

Fortunately, in most cases, Ureaplasma Urealyticum is easy to treat. The preferred treatment is Doxycycline for 7 days. In seldom cases whose U. urealyticum infection treatment with 7 days Doxycycline is failed, for the infection has caused large-scale infections in several organs. In these cases herbal treatment perform better than most antibiotics.
