Pelvic cavity is located in the lowest region of abdominal cavity. Invasion of fallopian tube, ovary, parametrial connective tissue, pelvic peritoneum, etc, by pyogenic bacteria and pathogen such as gonococcus would lead to hyperemia, edema, hyperplasia, and pus increase of tissues. The pus accumulating in the rear of the uterus would lead to pelvic abscess.
Symptoms of pelvic abscess are hyperpyrexia, lower abdominal sagging distention, dull pain, frequent defecation, mucous stool and tenesmus, urgent and frequent urinate, painful urination, lower abdominal tenderness and fluctuation.
Diagnosis bases are as follows:
- leucocyte and neutrophil increase;
- vomica indicated in pelvic cavity by ultrasonography and CT;
- obtaining pus by puncture of anterior rectum (culdocentesis for married person).
A variety of echo zones and pus can be found in masses ultrasonography; leucocyte marked with 67-gallium or 111-in is used to diagnose abdominal abscess via scan in recent years.
Fuyan Pill, as a compound traditional Chinese medicine, is effective in curing pelvic abscess. After three months medication, pelvic abscess can be completely cured.
