To prevent infections you should avoid anything that might cause irritation.

Avoid nylon tights and underwear, choose cotton underwear instead.

Avoid tight trousers and jeans which do harms to bladder.

Do not use perfumed soap, talcum powder or deodorants in the genital area which can irritate the genital.


You should also try the following to prevent cystitis


Wipe your genital area from front to back after a bowel movement or urination. This will help keep bacteria from the vagina and anus away from your urethra.


Wash your genital area morning and night.Genital parts are very sensitive compared to other parts of the body to avoid scrubbing irritations.


Drink plenty of water. When you drink more water, you will urinate frequently. This will flush the urethra frequently and remove the bacteria. Water detoxifies the body and helps remove the body from infection.


Drink cranberry juice, as it stops bacteria from clinging to the cells lining the bladder. Remember to buy 100% cranberry juice, not cranberry juice drinks or cocktails because they contain much less cranberry juice and a lot of sugar.


Pass water as soon as you feel the need. The bladder only stays clean and free from bacteria if it is emptied regularly.


Take showers instead of baths.
