1.What are Fallopian Tubes?

The fallopian tubes are a very important part of female reproductive system which join ovaries to uterus. The fallopian tubes are two thin tubes and they are presented on each side of uterus. The fallopian tubes are around 10-12 centimeter in length. The fallopian tubes play a very important role in fertilization, because it is them who transfer eggs from ovary to uterus.

2.Blocked Fallopian Tubes

However, sometimes, due to some ambiguous reasons, the fallopian tubes are blocked which prevents the egg and sperm from meeting. This condition is referred as blocked fallopian tubes, which is also known as tubal factor infertility. Blocked fallopian tubes and fertility rates go hand-in-hand. 3.Causes of Blocked Fallopian Tubes

Fallopian tubes may be blocked because of previous surgery in the lower abdomen, damaged or infected cilia, a ruptured appendix, pelvic infections, endometriosis or fibroids, adhesions or birth defects in the uterus.
Salpingtis is the most preeminent cause of blocked fallopian tubes, which is an infection or inflammation of fallopian tubes that makes them swell.

Sometimes, obstruction also occurs when fallopian tubes are filled up with blood.

4. Symptoms of Blocked Fallopian Tubes

It is very unfortunate that many women with blocked fallopian tubes never experience any noticeable symptoms which makes it hard to identify. What's worse, few women don't experience any symptoms sometimes at all. It is very common for women with blocked tubes to go many years without knowing about their conditions. It is possible that millions of women actually have blocked fallopian tubes that are undiagnosed.

Different women with blocked fallopian tubes have different symptoms. If the blockage is caused because of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, women may experience soreness during their menstruation. Similarly, if the fallopian tubes are blocked because of infections, women may also experience pain during sexual intercourse.

The most common symptom of the blocked fallopian tubes is the painful menstruation, which refers to women experience pain during menstruation. Blocked fallopian tubes may cause diverse symptoms in different women.
