epididymitis is secondary to urethritis, prostatitis, and seminal vesiculitis. The retrograde of pathogenic bacteria via deferent duct causes epididymitis, which is seldom caused via lymph and blood circulation; besides, prostate heperplasia can also cause epididymitis. Pathogenic bacteria include E. coli, staphylococcus, streptococcus, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, mycoplasma, chlamydia, tuberculosis and so on.

(1)Acute epididymitis:

Patients with acute epididymitis may suffer from fever and over leucocyte numbers, more on one side, rare on both sides, the symptoms include testicular bulge, severe pain, may be radiated to groin and lower abdominal pain on the same side, scrotal swelling, skin red, epididymis swollen, touch pain in the inspection, has a clear boundary with the testicles at early period, while the seminal vesicle becomes bigger due to edema.

(2)Chronic epididymitis:

If the acute epididymitis hasn't been cured appropriately or promptly, it can turn into chronic epididymitis, while some are caused by chronic prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis, prostate hyperplasia; Chronic epididymitis has symptoms as follows: scrotum pain, bulge, pain in lower abdominal and the thigh on same side, epididymis on one side has edema in touch inspection, light pressing pain, has a clear boundary with testicles, spermatic cord and deferent duct thicken, double-side epididymitis leads to male infertility.
