Crystal(assumed name), a 12-year-old girl, who has suffered from abdominal pain for half a month, she also has vomiting, fever, and some other discomfort. Then her mom took her to the hospital for examination, and the result shocked everyone, she had a pelvic inflammatory disease(PID).

Crystal was an ordinary junior high school student who is less likely to have gynae diseases. Doctors found out that the girl shared the underwear with her mother might be the culprit.

Before Crystal came to the hospital, she had experienced a tough life nearly half a month. At first, she had persistent abdominal pain for unknown reasons, especially around the umbilical cord. She also had nausea and vomiting and felt relieved after vomiting.

After taking a blood examination, according to the results of white blood cells, neutrophil ratio, and other indicators, the diagnosis is given by the local hospital is "gastroenteritis." After being treated with antibiotics and fluid infusion, Crystal's abdominal pain is being alleviated a little bit. However, Crystal's condition starts over again now.

After being tortured half a month, now the final result was PID, which surprised Crystal's mother. But why will such a young girl suffer from gynecological diseases?

The doctor found a possible cause after making a careful inquiry. Crystal's mother is a woman of childbearing age; she has not been received standardized treatment and had a review of leucorrhea. Underwear with the pathogen is comfortable to cause cross-infection.

Besides, Crystal's menstrual period is relatively long, which usually lasts 7 to 10 days, and she does not pay much attention to personal hygiene habits during menstruation. The reduced mechanical defense function of cervical mucus may also create conditions for bacterial growth and pus formation. It may be the combination of these factors which lead to her PID.

Crystal's abdominal pain has lasted for more than half a month; the symptoms of abdominal pain and abscess still exist after a week of antibiotic treatment. In further examination, doctors also found that she had ovarian cysts and so on. In consider of the weak therapeutic effect of antibiotics and the large size of the abscess, there is a risk of abscess rupture at any time, the doctor decided to choose laparoscopic surgery for Crystal through research.

In light of that, Crystal is too young, and doctors consider retaining her fallopian tube as much as possible to provide opportunities for natural pregnancy in the future. However, for the severely damaged fallopian tube, doctors carefully removed the severely damaged right fallopian tube after a thorough evaluation during the operation and conversations with the family members of Crystal. After that, a series of measures were taken to minimize the occurrence of pelvic adhesions.

Postoperative consolidation therapy is essential. To prevent infection and sequelae, patients can choose safe and natural Chinese medicine Fuyan Pill for adjuvant treatment, which can prevent recurrence after operation.

After the operation, Crystal's abdominal pain symptoms were utterly relieved, body temperature was normal, and no other discomfort occurred. Ten days after leaving the hospital, a telephone follow-up was conducted to confirm that she had no recurrence of previous pain.

Through Crystal's case, it is reminded that parents of girls during adolescence must pay special attention to their health care and prevention of infection. Especially for underwear and underclothes, women's privacy hygiene, menstrual hygiene, etc.
