| Mycoplasma is the smallest microorganism of extracellular survival and a class of microbial prokaryotic cells that lack of cell wall. It’s general size ranges from 0.3um to 0.5um. It is highly polymorphic that contained sphere, filiform, cladodromous and so on. It is different from cell and virus. It has a great variety and widely distributing. It brings about considerable damage that involved in a number of areas, such as human, animals, plants and so on. It have adverse effects on health condition of people. Of the 16 types of mycoplasma separated from the body,5 types are fatal. Such as M.pneumoniae, Ureaplasma urealyticum, M.homins, M.genitalium and M.fermentans. Ureaplasma contained ureaplasma urealyticum that is fatal. Mycoplasma pneumoniae is caused by respiratory infection, pneumonia is the main reason. Ureaplasma urealyticum and M.homins are caused by urogenital infection.
Chlamydia infection can lead to sexually transmitted diseases (STD)- non-gonococcal urethritis. Chlamydia is a kind of microorganism that specialize in parasitic life in eukaryotic cells. This type of micro-organisms and Gram-negative bacteria have many similar characteristics. These characteristics include that:
(1) They both have two types of DNA and RNA nucleic acid.
(2) They have a unique development cycle that is similar to the second division of bacteria reproduce.
(3) They have a cell wall is composed of mucopeptide.
(4) They contain ribosomes.
(5) They have a separate enzyme system that can dissociate glucose and discharge CO2. Some can synthesize of folate. But, it lacks the effect of producing metabolic energy and must rely on the metabolic product of primary cells. So, it shows the property of rigorously parasitizing in cell.
(6) They both sensitive about antibiotics and sulfanilamide which can inhibit the growth of them. Chlamydia is classified as bacteria from the year of 1957.
Chlamydia parasite on a wide range of human, mammals and fowl. The minority is fatal. According to the structure of antigen and the nature of inclusion body, Chlamydia is divided into C.trachomatis, C.psittaci and C.pneumonia. C.trachomatis have three biological variants, there are trachoma biological variation, LGV biological variation and biological variant of rat. Trachoma biological variation has serotype that from A to K14(include Ba、Da、Ia). LGV biological variation has four types of serotypes, that is,L1、L2、L2a and L3.
